External cylindrical grinding between centers

Operations of grinding on external surfaces of cylindrical or conical components, with continuous or interrupted cut, by means of precision grinding machines with horizontal or vertical grinding wheels.

Solutions to machining problems or criticalities:

Machining of components with unfavorable diameter/length ratios with consequent difficulty in withstanding the grinding wheel’s machining stresses
Different materials to be removed on the same component (anti-wear coatings, hardened zones, anti-friction coatings, etc.)
Machining of components with continuous surface zones and others with interrupted cut
Components requiring specific roughness specifications (gearbox shafts, pump gears, rods, etc.)
Machining of components with very high shoulders, which often cause burns
Machining on automated work cells where there is an absolute need to achieve the required process consistency to allow the plants to be used without operator supervision
High stock allowances generating large quantities of waste material with consequent difficulty in filtering cooling fluids and cleaning the work area
Machining of pressed components with inconsistent grinding allowances

Machined components

Transmission shafts, axles, rolling rolls, spindle axes, pins, rods, tools, crankshafts, etc.
